Woodland Spring Lodge offers year-round schooling accredited by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Our academic curriculum is based upon State of Missouri education standards for math, science, social studies, fine arts, physical fitness and communication arts for grade levels K through 12.
The academic success of each student is an integral component of the child’s treatment goals. Upon enrollment, tailored programming is developed to meet the individual academic needs of each student. In addition to traditional classes taught by certified teachers in their fields, our school utilizes technology-based learning including A+ software, Plato software and distance learning to enhance and accelerate learning opportunities.
During the admission process high school students receive a comprehensive transcript and credit review so that we can best match corresponding academic curricula from the student’s home school district. Woodland Spring Lodge curriculum requires completion of 22 credits to earn a high school diploma. We offer credit recovery through computer-based tutorial curriculums that are nationally recognized and used state-wide.
For students who are college bound, we provide ACT and SAT preparation as well as individualized college guidance.
In addition to providing quality education, the school environment is seen as an integral part of the treatment process. Our teachers are part of the treatment team and are involved in group therapy sessions. They are trained in the relationship model used in the cottages to provide consistent treatment throughout a student’s day. |
